Harold James Stevens GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. - Harold James Stevens, 89, Grand Junction, died Tuesday, Jan 13, 1998, at LaVilla Grande Care Center. Mr. Stevens was born Dec. 29, 1908, at Culver, Kan., and was a resident of Rifle before moving to Grand Junction in 1947. He was a truck driver and a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church, Tescott, Kan. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Royce Kay Williams. Survivors include his wife, Freida of Grand Junction; a son, Jerry of Oak Harbor, Wash.; a brother, Don of Culver; two sisters, Charlotte Sams of Culver and Betty Somers of Salina, Kan.; two grandchildren; and two great grandchildren. A memorial service will be later. Memorials may be made to Hospice of the Grand Valley, P.O. Box 60307, Grand Junction 81506, or Salvation Army, 1234 N. Fourth, Grand Junction 81501. The body was cremated. Callahan-Edfast Mortuary, 2515 Patterson Rd., Grand Junction 81505, is handling arrangements. He was born December 29, 1908 at Culver, the son of Tom and Mary Holmes Stevens. Mr. Stevens was a truck driver. He married Freida Dagmer Christensen on May 3, 1936 at Mankato. He was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church at Tescott. Survivors include his wife Freida of Grand Junction; a son, Jerry Stevens of Oak Harbor, Wash.; a brother, Don Stevens, Culver; two sisters, Charlotte Sams, Culver and Betty Somers, Salina; two grandchildren and two great grandchildren. The body was cremated. A private tribute will be held later.
